Tower of London
In central London near the River Thames, The Tower of London offers a famous tourist attraction. Over the years the Tower of London served as a palace, a prison and a zoo. Built by William the Conqueror 900+ years ago, the Tower of London has been used for centuries by Royals as a refuge and base of authority. It also houses her Majesty’s Crown Jewels, guarded at all times by the famous Beefeaters. The White Tower occupies a prime location within the Tower of London. Westminster Abbey
Westminster Abbey in London is the most famous landmark. It’s a tourist destination that you must visit. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and has a fascinating history. Geoffrey Chaucer and Charles Dickens are among the many kings, queens, aristocrats and statesmen who were interred at the abbey. In the Abbey, many Kings and Queens were crowned and many Royal Weddings took place including that of Prince William and Kate Middleton. Westminster Abbey London’s exterior is stunning and offers great photo opportunities. One of the most notable features in the Abbey is a statue depicting the Virgin Mary with baby Jesus. The Little Cloister leads the College Gardens, and the Nave contains the grave of an unknown war hero.
The Monument
The Monument, designed by Sir Christopher Wren, is dedicated the Great Fire of London. The Monument stands 202ft tall and is situated on pudding Lane, just 202ft from the place where the Great Fire is thought to have begun. To enjoy spectacular views over London, visitors will need to climb 311 stairs. They’ll also receive a certificate.
